2-WEEK PUPPY BOARD & TRAIN

PUPPIES UP TO 20 WEEKS – This second week is an important one! Week 1 they learned some rules, such as crying and/or screaming isn’t going to get them their desired result, and that the crate is a necessary thing while they learn to “hold it”. They made some new friends and learned that there are boundaries to what is allowed and what is not.
During Week 2, we begin upping the game.
- For example, if puppy has been fed, watered, pottied, and played, then screaming in their crate just gets them ignored. They begin learning what it means to “wait” for a few minutes.
- They are held to a strict potty schedule. We follow the recommendations of The Humane Society which uses the “months for hours” rule. It looks like this, if your puppy is 3 months old, they can “hold it” for 3 hours.
- We continue to work on sleeping all night and waking up dry.

For puppies that will require regular grooming every 6-8 weeks, we introduce them to a grooming table and brushes and combs. We play a lot with their ears and their paws so they learn how to have those sensitive areas touched. (It will make nail trims a breeze!)
*IMPORTANT: As with human babies, all are different. Some catch on incredibly fast while others are much, much slower. In order to not increase your puppy’s anxiety and stress, it’s imperative we work at their pace.
After their time with us, we will be just a phone call away should you have any further questions, need some extra advice or simply some reassurance. This aftercare service is FREE OF CHARGE and available for as long as you need it… days, weeks or months!! No one offers that!
